Having trouble with your hearing aids while wearing a mask?

Hi all

I have ordered, and now received, these mask holders. They allow you to hook the ear loops on your mask around the holder to keep them away from your ears (and hearing aids). I have a limited amount of these available in the clinic for $5 each. Please ring to reserve one and we can make a time for you to pick it up. We have to be careful how many people we have in the clinic at a time at the moment. Have a great week everyone!

We are reopening tomorrow!

We are happy to announce that we will be open again for in-person appointments starting Wednesday (at Covid Alert Level 2). If you had an appointment with us scheduled during the lockdown we will be in touch with you to reschedule this. If you have made an inquiry over the lockdown period and requested an appointment time we will be in touch over the next few days to book you in!

Please be aware that wearing a face mask is mandatory if you are coming into the clinic and you will have to either sign in using the covid tracer app or using our manual sign in system. Please do not come if you are unwell – ring and rebook.

If you just need batteries or other supplies please ring us before you come as we have to be careful how many people are in the clinic at one time. If you would prefer to have supplies posted to you feel free to contact us and we can arrange that. We can’t wait to see you all again!

Update - going into Alert Level 3

We are heading down to Alert Level 3 tonight at 11.59pm. However, until we reach Alert Level 2 we are unable to open for face-to-face appointments. At Level 3 we can operate a remote service for some urgent, minor jobs and so please contact us by phone or email if the need has arisen for batteries, filters or small repairs and we will try and sort some help for you. Please do not come to the clinic without pre-checking and arranging whether it is possible. We are proud to be local and kiwi owned and operated and looking after you during this difficult time with our personalised service.

We are really looking forward to seeing you all when we can! I hope you are all safe and well and coping with Level 4. Take care everyone!

Sincock & Till Audiology lockdown update

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well in your bubbles. Wasn’t the weather great yesterday and it’s warming up nicely today too … simple joys!

We are temporarily closed (of course) at present but emails and phone calls have been diverted to me at home if there is anything you urgently need to talk to me about or just need a chat.

We have contacted those who had appointments scheduled over the lockdown period and will contact you if you have appointments booked from next Monday.

I have a small supply of hearing aid batteries and wax guards with me at home which I managed to grab at the last minute before we were all locked down so if you need any supplies let me know and I can post you some from my home.

Anyway, I am thinking of you all and I look forward to seeing everyone again when we are able to safely do so. Thank you for your support and keep safe and well!

Kind regards

Carolyn Till

Sincock & Till Audiology Covid safety

Stay keeping safe everyone!

Jo and I are encouraged by the efforts of New Zealanders in eliminating the spread of COVID-19, ultimately keeping us all safe and healthy. Although we are still at Alert Level 4, strict controls will still apply during Alert Level 3. We are eager to support our Government as we move towards the restart of safe businesses and the economy.

Our main priority is the health and safety of Jo and I, our clients, and community.

During Alert Level 3, our premises at Barbadoes Street will remain closed. However, if you have an urgent need please ring the clinic on 385 6036 (which is diverted to me at home) and I will assist you. If you have lost/damaged your hearing aids beyond repair during Level 3 we may be able to arrange insurance replacement aids for you.

I encourage you to call me if you have any hearing needs or need any supplies during Alert Level 3. I would love to hear from you.

Stay safe everyone, and we hope to be back to full capacity in the near future. Carolyn

Thinking of you all during the lockdown

Hi everybody!

I hope this email finds you safe and well and I hope you are coping with the lockdown OK.

I'm taking this time to think about changes and ways I can improve my services when we get back to 'normal'. I would greatly appreciate your feedback regarding my services and your experiences with my clinic. All responses are anonymous unless you enter your details at the end for me to contact you.

Link to survey

If there's anything you need (even just a chat) ring the clinic phone 385 6036 - it is being diverted to my mobile.

Thanks in advance for completing the survey and keep safe!

Carolyn

Keep safe everyone!

We hope you are all doing OK in light of recent events in the last few weeks culminating with the announcement of a Level 4 lockdown from Wednesday. We are thinking of you all as we face this situation together.
As we are not considered an essential service, we will be closing our doors for four weeks from 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday). If you need any batteries or hearing aid supplies please try to pick them up on Tuesday if you can (while stocks last). We can drop off supplies in the Christchurch area (including Wednesday) if time allows before the lockdown if you are self-isolating or can’t make it into the clinic.
If you have any concerns during the lockdown or if we can help in any way (or even need a friendly chat) call the clinic phone on 385 6036. You can also email us on info@staudiology.co.nz if you have any queries or concerns.
Let’s stand strong together and be kind to each other and hope that these measures keep us all safe.

Hear better in noisy places than normal

Siemens Binax has been launched onto the market – two overseas clinical studies show Siemens Binax hearing aid wearers are able to understand speech better than people with normal hearing in one of the most challenging hearing environments e.g. a cocktail party. Quite a claim!

We both attended the Binax launch recently and experienced this for ourselves.
